Description

Maybe called Eshelman\'s Meetinghouse because the land was donated and the church built by John Eshelman. After it was built there were differences between John and other members of the congregation. Soon after this Shanks Brethren Church was built. The congregation that was left at Paradise was small and soon the church became extinct.\n\nIn 1947, a small Mennonite congregation needed a church home and bought the Paradise church. This congregation soon grew in numbers and built a new church down Pensinger Road. This congregation is now Salem Ridge Mennonite Church and it has a new cemetery behind it.\n\nParadise is a small, well maintained cemetery. It is near the corner of Pensinger Road and Rt. 11, south of Greencastle.
